Presidential Form Of Government
It is a system of government where a head of government is also head of state and leads an executive branch that is separate from the legislative branch. The United States, for instance, has a presidential system.
The main characteristics of the presidential system are stated as follows -
The president is elected by the people and not by the Legislative Branch, which gives him independence before this branch.
President is both the head of state and the head of government.
The president freely appoints and removes the secretaries of State.
The executive is not accountable to the legislature.
The Executive Power is undivided. It is deposited in a president who is both the head of State and the head of government.
Persons outside the legislature are appointed as ministers.
President cannot dissolve lower house.
Parliamentary Form Of Government
Unlikely, presidential systems, this form of government are typified by a fusion of powers between the legislative and executive branches. The Prime Minister (who is the chief executive) may be elected to the legislature in the same way that all other members are elected. The Prime Minister is the leader of the party that wins the majority of votes to the legislature. Thus, it is a democratic form of government in which the political party that wins the most seats in the legislature or parliament during the federal election forms the government.
The main characteristics of the Parliamentary Form Of Government are stated as follows -
Powers are Concentrated
Only the members of Parliament can be appointed as minster.
